In 2008, MuralsDC was launched and produced 12 murals in wards 1, 2, 4, 5, and 8 within the District of Columbia. This is following the success of a pilot program in 2007 which produced 2 murals in ward 1. The arts groups who participated to create the final pieces in both years include:

A.M. Radio, Aniekan Udofia, Centro Nia, City Arts DC (G. Byron Peck), Joel Bergner, Latin American Youth Center Art + Media House, The Midnight Forum, Words Beats & Life
